Fortnite experiences day-long outage

The eagerly anticipated launch of Fortnite’s Chapter 5: Season 2, which is themed around Greek mythology, faced a delay due to extended maintenance downtime. Typically, maintenance lasts only a few hours, but this time it persisted until Friday evening, causing frustration among players.

Despite the delay, players were finally able to download the updates and access the game after 9PM ET. However, many encountered long queues and error messages when attempting to play, leading to a less than smooth start to the new season.

The Fortnite Status account acknowledged that developers were working on fixing issues related to islands, purchasing items, and matchmaking problems. The Epic Games status page reassured players that everything is now operational following the completion of the scheduled maintenance, although it did experience some delays.

Fans of the popular battle royale game can now dive into the new Greek mythology-themed season, complete with new challenges and rewards. Despite the initial hiccups, players are excited to explore the new content and see what Epic Games has in store for them in Chapter 5: Season 2.
