The latest: British expatriate fans arrive in Rome

The latest European Football Championship news:

England and Ukraine fans needed a lot of paperwork to get into the Olympic Stadium.

They must have a ticket, a negative COVID-19 test, and proof of residency in Italy or in a country where quarantine is not required to enter the country.

England fan Mike Dupres says you can’t enter with a British passport. “They are very strict,” he adds.

Dobris says he came from Spain on Friday with 200 other English fans to watch the game in Rome.

“There are people who come from Sweden, Dubai and Switzerland,” he says. He adds that all arrivals are coming “because all the fanatics in the UK can’t get in”.

Travelers from Great Britain are required to self-isolate for five days upon arrival in Italy. And the Italian authorities warned before the match that anyone coming from Britain this week would not be allowed into the stadium even if they had a match ticket.

Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg scored twice to give Denmark a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic and a place in the European Championship semi-finals.

Denmark became a surprise contender for Euro 2020 after the tournament kicked off with midfielder Christian Eriksen suffering a heart attack on the field in the team’s opening match.
