A woman pregnant with twins was shocked when her husband planned a last-minute trip during her third trimester
He was "alone" 24 hours after being discharged from the hospital.
She revealed on Reddit that her husband has yet to apologize and she's not sure she can "get over her anger."
A pregnant woman urged her husband not to travel in the third trimester, but he went, but he was only hospitalized.
The 37-year-old explained on Reddit that she has been with her 39-year-old husband for "almost 18 years."After years of fertility problems, she is now pregnant with twins.
"I still haven't gotten over what I went through physically and mentally to get here," he wrote.
Despite tensions with some of his partner's family, "he decided in mid-November that he suddenly had to visit his brothers across the country."
"Although I am not satisfied with this idea, in order to avoid his anger, I said that it is okay, but it should have been faster," he wrote."He first proposed in mid-December, which I told him was too late in my pregnancy.
Immediately after the conversation, the poster "began to have problems - severe swelling and high blood pressure from pregnancy."She was put on medication "to control blood pressure," but nothing seemed to work.
Despite her health problems, her husband continued to plan to travel.
"My husband did not book the flight (for mid-December) until after I was diagnosed with gestical hypertension. If there was sooner, maybe I would not have felt so much resentment," she was sent.
Then, just 24 hours after leaving, the woman “had to go to the hospital at midnight because of high blood pressure – 180/110 when I got to the hospital.”
"I was finally diagnosed with preeclampsia. I spent several hours alone at night in the hospital at work and they prescribed me more medication," she wrote."Both babies had normal heartbeats and in the end I was sent home."
The woman explained that she was "too depressed and anxious" to go through a health scare "alone."However, her husband is "unapologetic" about putting his travel ambitions first.
She noted that if he wanted to see his brothers, he would probably fly them away.
While most of her family members "believe it was unwise of him to travel at this time", others claimed he could never have predicted that she would end up in hospital while he was away.
So he turned to Reddit for an outside perspective, noting that he's not sure how to "get over the anger I feel."
"Your husband is an idiot - so are people who say 'how would you know...'," wrote one user." Let's review. 1) Third trimester - anything can happen 2) Your age = high risk 3) Gestational hypertension = increased risk."
"Normal Dad: Hey, I miss my siblings and really want to visit them, but my wife is in her third trimester of a high-risk pregnancy with twins, so I can't go. Maybe we can Skype or Zoom or something," added another.
"You have a right to be upset. You experienced exactly what HE should have feared!"
