The community has finally completed the week-long ARG puzzle and now the Cryo Archive will open its doors tomorrow.
A new Cryo Archive launch trailer promises to clash with the marathon's biggest enemy
Bungie's first-person extraction shooter Marathon launched earlier this month on March 5, and since then, players have been killing each other, looting Tau Ceti IV, and, for the most dedicated, trying to solve a giant ARG puzzle. After weeks of work, including killing 500 million UESC enemies, the puzzle is complete and floating in the sky.Marathon is ready to board. With its doors open, players can finally take part in the Cryo Archive, an endgame map that looks like Bungie's Extraction spin on its Fate raids.
The Cryo Archive will officially go live in Marathon tomorrow, on March 20, and will see players racing through seemingly haunted corridors to take out UESC, other Runners, and maybe even Compiler, the classic S'pht enemy from Bungie's original Marathon trilogy. In the Cryo Archive launch trailer that Bungie released today, we can see Compiler (in the image above) at the end, showing that players will have to fight this enemy to complete the race and exit the Marathon.
