Crimson Desert developer Pearl Abyss has outlined a number of major changes coming to the game in the coming months, each addressing different community complaints that have been noted recently.

There are some really fun things in the Pearl Abyss blog post, including new challenges, enemy reloads and difficulty levels. However, Pearl Abyss has also confirmed improvements for the two characters, Damiane and Oongka, to join them in the line with the main player Kliff, new animals and mounts, new clothes and major changes.

Meanwhile, there are improvements to the user interface and control, as well as improvements to the quality of distant scenery.Perhaps the most important change is that you will be able to hide items behind Kliff's back (finally!).

There's a lot to unlock here (all the details are below), but let's start with "reblocking":

"Peace is short-lived and the darkness does not retreat easily. The remnants of the enemy await their chance to retake the liberated places. Remove the forces occupying these places and continue to prove Greymane's strength."

That's a change looming in the schedule, as just this week we reported that some players with hundreds of hours under their belts had started complaining that the world had become too peaceful because they'd basically killed all the enemies.

Changes to issue settings are also welcomed. Here is the note:

"Difficulty settings will be added so that everyone - from new Greymans to more advanced - can enjoy the adventure at the level that suits them best. You will be able to choose between easy, normal and hard difficulty."

As we reported, some players requested a hard mode because they felt the updates made the game too easy. But we now know we're getting an easy mode, which should be good news for those who prefer a lighter experience (the Red Desert can be brutal in places, especially when it comes to some bosses). It will be interesting to see how the game changes with each setting.

And this is very important: new skills for Damiane and Oongka:

"We fully understand your feedback regarding the need for Damiane and Oongka to have abilities equivalent to 'Force Palm' and 'Axiom Force'. To solve this problem, both characters will receive new abilities corresponding to those abilities."

Players find that Damian and Ongka are limited in scope compared to Cliff; for example, they do not have the same ability to solve puzzles because most games cannot be completed while using both characters.Hopefully with this change, Damian and Ongka will become real options.

Other quality of life improvements are also expected.Crafting from camp storage is very important to the game as it currently forces you to take resources out of storage and into your inventory every time you want to use them.More attractable mounts and new pets will be added.

All in all, this is good news for Crimson Desert.I don't think I've ever seen a developer make such a massive open-world AAA single player so quickly, and Pearl Abyss is rightly praised for that. The speed of change in this game is truly impressive and you wonder what's coming each week.Pearl Abyss said the changes below will be released between April and June.

Changes coming to Crimson Desert April-June 2026:

◆ New content and features

We are preparing new challenges so that you can continue to test yourself during your journey through Pywel.

■ Boss matches

The mighty bosses you've encountered throughout the Crimson Desert are waiting to challenge you once again. With boss rematches, you'll have the chance to face each boss again, prove how much you've grown, and further refine your fighting style through different strategies and tactics.

Peace is fleeting, and darkness does not retreat so easily. The remnants of the enemy are waiting for an opportunity to regain the liberated places.Once again drive off the forces that have taken over these locations and continue to prove Greymane's strength.

■ Difficulty settings

A difficulty settings feature will be added so that everyone – from new Greymanes to the most advanced – can enjoy the adventure at the level that suits them best. You will be able to choose between easy, normal and hard difficulty.

We're also working on new combat-focused content, so stay tuned.

◆ Character game improvement

New abilities for Damian and Ongka.

We fully understand your feedback regarding the need for Damian and Oongka to have abilities comparable to Force Palm and Axiom Force. To address this, both characters gain new skills equivalent to these skills.

■ Hide back weapons

A new option is added to hide weapons on your character's back, so certain equipment you carry on your back won't dip during combat.

■ Addition of new costumes:

A new outfit will be added.

In addition, some clothes that can only be sold or donated will be renewed so that they can also be worn out.

◆ Improvement of QoL and Quality of Life

■ New specialized storage

- Food Pantry: We are planning to add a new food pantry where you can directly produce ingredients to use in cooking. When cooking, you can use ingredients from your pantry and inventory.

- Wardrobe: A new wardrobe will be added where you can store your headgear, armor, gloves, shoes and coats.

- Store Gatherables: New Gatherables will be added, from which you can directly build items to use in upgrading and crafting. This storage can hold many crafting materials, including bugs, stones, ores, etc.

- Collection Storage: A new Collection Storage will be added, giving you a place to keep quest items related to your adventures, along with recipes and other items you've collected on your travels.

■ Pets and mounts

More mounts to collect and new pets will be added. In addition to the existing mounts for horses, special armor is planned for other mounts.

◆ System and graphics improvements

■ UI application

To improve readability, we will add the option to adjust the minimum font size.Since Crimson Desert supports 14 UI languages, fully optimizing this feature in all of them will take time, but we plan to introduce it first to make the game more comfortable to play.We also plan to continue improving various UI elements and QoL features, including improvements to the map, inventory, and housing.

■ Management improvements

We are carefully reviewing your feedback with controls. To provide a better gaming experience, we plan to add customization options for specific controller inputs. We will also expand the range of adjustable keys for keyboards and mice to increase usability.

■ Improvements to the quality of remote locations

We're working on improving the realism of distant backgrounds so you can enjoy Pywel's landscapes more deeply.Note that the size of the patch may be slightly larger due to improvements in how distant landscapes change and the quality of rendering in different conditions.Take a look at the image below for a preview of what Pywel will look like after the update.
