The CFP board doesn't have enough elite teams

There's so much drama, so many answers in the college football postseason that now more than ever it's a raging dumpster fire.

Here's what we know about the annual Demolition Derby beauty contest: Everyone knows that the surest, surest way to get to Valhalla is to win every game.

Lose, and you're left with the contradictions and panics of the College Football Playoff selection committee and the human condition that drives it.

And by the human condition I mean the absolute worst of it.

If strength of schedule is elevated to the top metric for the 12-man committee this offseason, how will James Madison — ranked 128th and without a win over a power conference team — earn one of five precious automatic conference championship spots?

If winning a conference championship game is an important game, why not a conference championship game.

Indiana won the first game of many contests, and has a high.1 result. Rexas Texs Tex won 12, and AxOina won the Ruler, good luck getting in the front.

But Duke won the ACC, had a tougher schedule and better success than JMU, and yet JMU got an automatic bid to the top five conferences because it went through the Sun Belt and Duke lost five games in the ACC.

Ohio State lost to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship game and was eliminated.

Texas Tech was defeated by BYU in the Big 12 Championship game.

I ask you, who in their right mind believes Oltlahoma, almost losing to Auburn, and getting blown out by Georgia, should be part of the party?

Meanwhile, Texas has three wins over top-14 CFP teams and was penalized for playing a non-conference game at No. 2 Ohio State and lost by seven points.

And then there is the strange case of Notre Dame, which became the epicenter of the selection committee's contradictions and absurdities.

For a month the 12-member committee explained Notre Dame wasn’t the same team that lost to Miami in the season opener and deserved to be among the fortunate 12. The Irish, they say, were playing as well as anyone in the country.

Before we get into championship week, how about you ask?The truth is, we don't know, so committee chairman and Arkansas athletic director Hunter Jurahek are helping out.

That the CFP could sell Ole Miss to Tulane, a game we saw in September where Tulane lost by 35 and JMU plays Oregon in four elite games before the postseason begins, is unrealistic and not productive for the health of the sport.

One quinary is the end.Not desirable, but doable.

Regarding the announcement of a conference champion or a more deserving Electric Conference team, the latter is really interesting.

It doesn't compare and Pollyanna's fantasy of being sold is ridiculous.
