KARACHI: MQM Chief Altaf Hussain was greatly disappointed over the response of Asif Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah for not attending his phone call. Altaf Hussain was deeply hurt over the cold attitude of PPP leadership towards him as he was unable to convey his grievances to them over the recent arrest of his workers by Rangers.
In a press release issued by the party, it was told that MQM chief had called PP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah but could not speak to them. Hussain called Shah but the line was not clear and because of the old age of Shah, he could not hear Altaf Hussain clearly.
The MQM chief then called for the second time from his direct phone to Shah but this time his operator picked up the phone and made Altaf waited for several minutes during which he was forced to listen the recorded speeches of Bhutto and Benazir, said the press release.
After wait of several minutes the operator told MQM chief that Shah will call him back but he never called till now.
Altaf also called the PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari on his two numbers in Dubai several times but he didn’t attend his call.
Angry Altaf then burst out in a press statement and termed the attitude of PPP leadership irresponsible and disheartening especially in a situation when Rangers is arresting his workers and has occupied the whole of Sindh.
Later on, Rabita Committee of MQM in London directed the Rabita Committee in Pakistan to take notice of the indifferent attitudes of the PPP leaders.
