PESHAWAR: Ex spokesman for outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Shahidullah Shahid killed in a US drone strike, Afghan media reported Thursday.
The official account of the renowned news channel Tolo News of Afghanistan tweeted that Shahidullah Shahid had been killed in a US drone strike in Nangarhar province.

He had served TTP as a spokesman under the leadership of Hakimullah Mehsud and curent chief Mullah Fazlullah.
His real name was Sheikh Maqbool Orakzai. He parted ways with the TTP and pledged allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, head of IS. Shahidullah Shahid recently joined self-styled Islamic State as a senior commander in Pakistan.
He had maintained good contacts with Arab fighters.
Nasir Dawar, a senior journalist from Fata said, “Disputes within the TTP triggered the defection of senior militants commanders such as Shahidullah Shahid, Dawlat Khan from Kurram Agency, Commander Hafiz Saeed Khan from Orakzai, and some others who played an important role in TTP in the past”
