ISLAMABAD: The national assembly has passed a resolution on Wednesday against the brutality of government of Myanmar.
The resolution was moved by Rana Tanvir Hussain ( Federal Minister For Defensce Production ).
PM Nawaz Sharif was also there in the House along with Opposition Leader of NA Syed Khursheed Shah. The resolution states that the House commends the courage of Rohingyas in light of the atrocities being carried out against them.
The resolution also urges human rights activists “to do all the acts necessary to protect the peaceful community of Rohingya Muslims being brutally extinguished in Myanmar”.
Yesterday, A cabinet committee formed to tackle issues over the plight of Rohingya Muslims, decided on $ 5 million grant in the form of food to be channeled through the World Food Program for distribution in Rohingya camps in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
Pakistan will also appeal to the United Nations to impress upon the Myanmar government to grant Rohingya Muslims equal citizenship rights and ensure the protection of the oppressed minority community.
The plight in Rohingyas evoked immediate response from the PM and cabinet members and it was decided that a committee led by the interior minister would be constituted to chalk out an effective response to the issue.
