Bollywood mega star Salman Khan said that Geeta must be given a better life in her motherland and that Indian is better living for her than Pakistan.
A hearing and speech-impaired Geeta in her early 20s has been living in a women’s shelter in Karachi for 13 years. Her being in Pakistan reflects the story of Salman Khan’s recently hit film Bajrangi Bhaijaan in which a six-year-old speech-impaired Pakistani girl is shown lost in India.
During his talks with media, Salman Khan said that he wasn’t clear concerning Geeta’s story, however, did know that nobody from her family in India had stepped forward claiming her as their child.
“We should thank the NGO in Pakistan (Edhi Foundation that has been looking after Geeta in all these years) for supporting her and giving her a good life. We should respect the fact that they have kept an Indian there for such a long time,” said the star.
Adding about Geeta and her return to India, Salman said that there must be her own family and friends in India and that it should be made sure that her life in India is much better than where she has been living for years.
The mega star also expressed that if Geeta covets to meet him then he would be happy to see her.
