Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Saturday that transformation in climate has a solemn menace to human beings of the world.
During addressing the Commonwealth Summit on Climate Change in Malta, the premier said Pakistan faced horrible floods on after another during 2010 and 2011 due to climate change in the region. PM called for provision of the modern technology and other resources for implementation of moves during the conference.
PM Nawaz said that support should be given to underdeveloped countries to subdue challenges being faced due to change in climate.
Premier said Pakistan was suffering the deadly change in climate, adding that the Himalayan glaciers were melting quicker as compare to those of other parts of the world.
“We are adopting environment-friendly policies to overcome climate degradation,” said PM Nawaz.
The premier also participated banquet chaired by Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II for the heads of government of Commonwealth countries and their spouses.
PM Nawaz is also scheduled to attend the inaugurating ceremony of the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris on Monday.
Meanwhile, the premier was also accompanied by his wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz who also was attended by members of the Royal family.
