Chinese FM’s tour to Pakistan deferred


ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s two day official visit to Pakistan, scheduled for Monday (today) to finalise the details of the upcoming visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping has been deferred due to confidential matters.


Government of China has informed Government of Pakistan about the details and new dates for FM’s visit.

Now Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay official visit to Pakistan, UAE and Iran from Feb 12 to Feb 16 as reported by China Daily and Xinhuanet.


The reason for the deferment of visit has not been disclose to public. The meeting of FM Wang Yi was scheduled with President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan military leadership.

Chinese President visit to Pakistan is expected to take place in next month and probably he will also attend the 23 March Parade. However, the final date will be announced after visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Pakistan.
