The 50-year-old man was died after being beaten when residence of Bisara Village spread rumours in the area about his family as preserving and consuming beef in the meals.
As provoked, the extremists of the area took over him and his son and beat them badly till the old man succumbed to death while the young boy got severely injured.
The following day, as the news of the incident spread like a fire in the country, people protested slamming this brutality. Subsequently, six people were taken into custody in connection with the act of beating.
As stated by the police, they have sent samples of meat taken from the deceased old man’s house to the forensics department for examination.
Meanwhile, Sajida, daughter of Akhlaq, said the family had ‘mutton in the fridge’ and not beef.
The incident caused the human right wings to raise concerns over the cow eating issue in India. Earlier, the extremist Hindus had striven to impose a ban on cow slaughtering and beef eating in the country.
