A Pakistani accused of 2009 Peshawar attack arrested in Italy


A Pakistani allegedly involved in the Peshawar market attack in 2009 has been taken into custody in Rome, Italian police claimed.


The arrested person has been living in Italy is accused of participating in the bombing back in 2009 in which 134 had died, including number of women and children.

He was taken at Rome’s Fiumicino airport after coming out of a flight arrived from Pakistan.

Anti-terrorist police maintain that he also concealed a ‘suspected suicide attacker who was supposedly involved in an attack in Italy.


Eelier, Italy claimed in April to have dismantled an Islamist terror cell on the island of Sardinia led by two former bodyguards of Osama bin Laden who were conspiring a possible attack on the Vatican.

The arrest warrants were issued for 18 people, number of whom are also suspected of being involved of militant networks in Pakistan. Apart from three in Sardinia, total nine were arrested in Italy.

Meanwhile, terrorists attacks including suicide bombing attacks have been one of the major issues in Pakistan. The attackers and the master minds of these brutalities allegedly have contacts with their accomplices outside the country. And many among them get themselves shifted to some foreign country as well.
