Who are the finalists for the Great British Pub Awards 2022?

Rieger, Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire

Watch bands, interactive art events, hard rock and lyrics in the vibrant Staffordshire venue. Art done by guests and local artists adorn the walls and there are guitars hanging around the place.

There is a great eye for detail with the grunge style decor. The necks of guitars are used to pull the beer and the glowing “Rigger” sign is used as the background for the main stage.

Every year, the place throws an all-night Halloween party. A Great Gatsby themed New Year’s Eve party is also organized. International artists are popular at the venue, and bands from Hollywood, South Africa, Italy and France have taken to the stage. Local talents and artists from faraway countries are hosted on site.

The King’s Arms, Bexleyheath, Kent

This modern, vibrant pub goes above and beyond in its entertainment. The site’s upcoming events are announced on beautifully designed posters around the venue. Food is a big part of the business at King’s Arms, with their menu including rainbow patties, baked camembert, and a wide range of burger options, among other dishes.

Food and fun intertwine in the pub. Events included an Asian Fusion evening, Valentine’s Day movie night with chocolate fondue, as well as wine and charcuterie nights, where the pub’s wine seller talks with guests about the wine on offer.

However, the pub’s entertainment offering doesn’t stop there. At all dinners, vocalists play to guests in the basement lounge. There were barbecues and South African movie screenings on the rooftop terrace inspired by the site’s impressive ski lodge.
