What a korean sight roma, 1700 athletes raced in memory of Abebe Bikila

Rome – A magical night in the capital on Saturday 17th September, with the temperature plummeting vertically but with the massive heat to warm it up from 1,700 runners.

Athletes from all over Italy and beyond at the start of CorriRoma, the race created to celebrate Abebe Bikila’s victory at the 1960 Olympics, now in its 14th edition. The start was made at 9pm by Alessandro Onorato, advisor for major events, sports, tourism and fashion at Rome Capital.

First to cross the finish line, among the men, was Asd’s Humberto Persi in the run with a time of 31’53”, second place for Rafal Andrzej Nordwing LBM Sport Team with 32’24”, and third place for Domenico Liberatore Podistica Solidarity in 32 minutes 25 inches

In the women’s field, GS Lammari’s Alicia Toquito at 35’29”, Asd Piano’s Lucia Metideri but we hit 35’57”, Ayse Burcin Sonmez of SS Lazio Atletica Leggera closes the podium at 38’30”.

The CorriRoma 2022 was also valid as the Absolute Singles Regional Championships and the 10km Masters on the Vidal Lazio Route.

The event organized by the Italia Marathon Club sponsored by the Lazio region and Roma Capitale was an important joint initiative in collaboration with the association Argos Forze di Polizia and CSV Lazio (Volunteer Service Center) at a distance of 2 km symbolic in support of the non-profit organization La Lanterna di Diogene, initially present with its children .
