The best summer music festivals in Britain 2023
3-6 August 2023 in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales

The Green Gathering is a not-for-profit and environmentally friendly festival, driven by “sun, wind, people and a passion for change”. Over four days at Piercefield Park, Chepstow (about 30 minutes from Bristol or Cardiff), you’ll enjoy a line-up of around 100 local artists, from solo singer-songwriters to punk bands, as well as swing, dance and folk. And reggae, and cabaret, and poetry.
But one of the best reasons to go to this award-winning festival is to share information and experiences about all things low-impact and secluded living, like solar plants, Greek windmills, health and healing, and sustainable agriculture. In addition to music and workshops, there are plenty of activities for kids including face painting, hula hoops, mini golf, and jungle school trials. Teens are often overlooked at family-friendly festivals, but not here, as there are workshops for kids ages 11-17 as well as opportunities to play together, practice swing, juggle and do crafts.
