As the smartphone market is growing rapidly, many companies have been cultivating the seeds to grow their products in this lucrative business. TP-Link is one of those manufacturer of smartphones that is planning to land in this market with bringing in its own smartphone.
Top-Link had worked out in the past year, keeping in mind to launch its smartphone in 2016 with the title of Neffos. President of TP-Link, Jeffrey Chao expressed the company’s incursion in the smartphone market saying:
“Our original intention of developing Neffos was about creating a unique digital experience by establish a seamless connection between people and devices. We believe a real smartphone could provide a sense of joy of technology for users while at the same time offer a simple lifestyle for them in such era of information explosion, so that for users, the smarpthone is not just a tool, but a fashion icon to reflect oneself”.
Though no clue related to the upcoming device’s hardware, the reports from Hardware Zone claims that the earlier iteration of handsets could be showcased in the second month of 2016. The brand did not disclose whether it intends to associate with the likes of Qualcomm and MediaTek and release smarpthone operating their chipsets or release devices running their own developed SoCs.
In a market replete with competitors, number of Chinese smartphone manufacturers have taken low-margin business models. In offering products against cheap price with a tiny margin, new manufacturers have opportunity to cater to a greater number of clients and could be able to invest on that goodwill by launching smartphones which have a premium price tag.
TP-Link reiterated that their smartphone is going to hit the market during this newly arrived year and that the date will be announced later on.
