Among the many innovative sports that every year attract an increasing number of fans thanks to their amazing beauty, there is also water skiing. This discipline, which originated from the Federation of Surfing and Snowboarding, consists in maintaining balance and mastering a miniature surfboard (and thus similar to a snowboard) while being pulled by a motorboat, providing the opportunity to perform stunts.
Viverone boasts one of the poles of excellence in this field both in terms of teaching, with the school “Le Ski Nautique” and the athletes. Among these stands out Stefano James Comolo, who is now participating in the world championships in the United States.
Cesare Comolo, Stefano’s father and former coach of the Italian national team, took care of his training: “This sport has many aspects in common with athletics, because it requires great balance and a flexible body, without neglecting muscle mass. During training – Cesar continues – we focused on all relevant aspects, no Especially with regard to exercises on land which then affect performance on the water.”
The World Championships will be the first test for an athlete in the Junior Pro category, following his successes in Europe in 2019 (where he won a silver medal) and previous world championships in the same year that saw him win a bronze.
