CHRISTCHURCH: England succeed in getting his first victory of the World Cup 2015 after beating the Scotland by 119 runs in Hagley Oval, Christchurch New Zealand. Man of the match, Moeen Ali scored 128 runs and got two wickets.

England set the target of 304 in 50 overs at the loss of 8 wickets by playing first. Openers Ali and Bell provided a strong base to England by giving a partnership of 172. It was the highest partnership of World Cup 2015 for the first wicket. England faltered in the mid of his innings and lost three wickets in an over at the total of 203. A well played knock by Mommsen and Coetzer in the death overs helped English team to cross the 300 run mark.

England, who was at the bottom of the table in Pool A, finally succeed in recovering its position on the point table. It is compulsory for the England to win their remaining match if they want to make their way to the Quarter Final as they are still facing the deficit position in the point table. After three matches England have three points in court and Net Run Rate of -1.415. Scotland is also facing downward Net Run Rate at the loss of 2 matches -2.740.

Scotland is the only team to play in two or more World Cups without a win.
