Former star batsman and captain Inzamamul Haq who has been offered the Chief Selector’s slot by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has asked for some time to consider the offer.
According to a PCB official reported by Press Trust of India, PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan invited Inzamam to his home for discussing the matter.
“Shaharyar has offered Inzamam the chief selector’s position and also agreed to some points raised by the former captain who is now head coach of the Afghanistan team,” the official said.
Report further said, “Shahryar had agreed to give Inzamam considerable authority and also assured him of a suitable financial package since the former batsman is presently paid around USD 12,000 by the Afghanistan Cricket Board.”
“He has also asked for time so that he can speak to the Afghanistan cricket officials and reach an amicable agreement with them as he does not want to leave them in acrimonious circumstances,” the official said.
Inzamamul Haq has joined Afghan team last year, under his tenure Afghanistan team has produced tremendous result, during World T20, they have beat West Indies who later claimed the Cup.
