ADELAIDE: Pakistan Cricket Team captain, Misbah ul Haq backed the Indian cricket team by saying that India will be the favourite team in Thursday’s ICC World Cup semi-final against most favourite Australia.
Misbah said that Sydney Cricket Ground will suit the Indian players as Indian batsmen knows how to deal with spinner. On the other side, Australian team is lacking of quality spinners as we experienced in our quarter final clash with Australia.
Misbah added, “They might just be in trouble there, although it will be a tough game because both sides are playing good cricket.”
Australian captain Michael Clarke remarked on the Misbah’s statement that he believes it will be tough game between Australia and India but spin would not be the crucial factor at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Both side have played 14 ODI at Sydney Cricket Ground since 1980. Australian Team have won 13 matches out of 14 and one won by Indian Cricket Team.
In 10 Cricket World Cup head-to-head matches, Australia have won 7 out of 10 while 3 have won by India.
Besides the above facts, India has shown clean slate performance by now and they have the advantage of winning seven matches in Pool B.
Australian batsman, Glen Maxwell said today, “The India team should remember that it hasn’t won a single game against his side this summer. Host intend to keep it that way in Thursday’s ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final against the defending champions.”
