D/L method 47 over match: Pak all out for 222, SA needs 232 to win


AUCKLAND: Due to rain match between Pakistan and South Africa was adjusted to 47 overs. Pakistan got all out on 222 with two balls remaining. Dale Steyn was the star performer from the African side, got 3 wickets for 30 in 10 overs.


AB de Villiers, South African Captain won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pak loosing Ahmad Shehzad on team total of 30, Younus Khan and Sarfraz Ahmad partnership showed that their team will reach easily to the total 0f 300, but Sarfraz got run out on his 49, just 1 run away from half century.

After that green shirts were seemed off colour with none of batsman accompanying Misbah, to set high total against the team who have scored 2 times 400 in this World Cup.


Misbah-ul-Haq scored 56 of 86 balls, was dismissal by Dale Steyn in 44th over.

South African team undergoes one change in their team with Farhan Behardien replaced by JP Duminy.

Pakistan with two changes in their side, Younus Khan and Sarfraz Ahmad in place of Haris Sohail and Nasir Jamshed.

South Africa and Pakistan have battled three times in the World Cup, SA winning  all three of them. Both the sides have not played with each other in the World Cup since 1999.

SA have to chase 232, due to D/L method was match is reduced to 47 overs per side due to rain.
