De Villers’ blistering 162 helps SA to 408 against West Indies


SYDNEY: South Africa draws World Cup history and become the first team to register a highest target in World Cup 2015 so far. South Africa captain, AB De Villers, has powered his side to a massive 408 against the West Indies in the World Cup Pool B match in Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, Australia.


AB de Villiers won the toss at Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia and chose the safety of batting first. South Africa faced the loss of De Kock in the sixth over when their total was 18. Plessis and Amle adhere to crease and provide a partnership of 127 scores. South Africa falter in mid of the innings when they faced the loss of Plessis and Amla in one over of Gayle.


Rossouw and De Villiers built a partnership of 134 for the fourth wicket. De Villers smashed 162 off just 66 balls getting the second-fastest World Cup century. His innings was also the fastest ever 150 ever scored in ODIs. It is the highest target in the World Cup 2015 till now and also the second highest ever registered by a team in a World Cup match.
