Shahid Afridi blasts journalist when he questioned captaincy


LAHORE: Pakistan twenty20 captain and flamboyant batsman Shahid Afridi on Monday  came under the radar of media after he blasted the journalist over question.


Today, during the media talk  on the New Zealand tour, when journalist asked Shahid Afridi about his poor form as compare to previous captain and whether he thinks he should change way of captaincy, Afridi smiled and replied, ” Hmesha mujh aap say umeed thi k aap “Ghatiya” sawal hi karengy.”

In a long career of almost 20 year controversies are not new for hard hitting batsman, in 2011 he mocked Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt by calling him,” Old man who needed to rest”.


Journalist recorded their protest over Afridi’s statement and demanded apology.

PCB chairman Shahryar Khan tried to cool down things, he said Afridi Urdu is weak, for sure he didn’t mean to disrespect any one. While Test captain talking to media said, ‘Jis trha ka sawal media kare ga hay umeed karni chaheay wesa hi jawab milnay ki umeed rakhni chaheay”.
