Preity Zinta firmly rejects match-fixing allegations against Kings XI Punjab

One of Indian Premier League’s (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta refuted reports that she had accused several players of the team of match-fixing, NDTV reported on Wednesday.
Some recent media reports claimed that the Indian film actress had told the officials of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during an IPL performing group convention on August 8 that some cricketers belonging to Kings XI Punjab might be involved in doubtful activities concerning throwing matches.

The report allegedly says the actress had further said that she felt that some IPL matches where her team took part apparently follow a pre-set frame and said that the BCCI’s anti-corruption team has not been able to really tackle the match-fixing issue.

Number of IPL promoters and counsellors including all four members of the working group; IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur, BCCI treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry and Saurave Ganguly, had been attending the meetings.
As soon the reports reached Preity Zinta, she strongly rejected the content of the report and rushed towards tweeter to discredit the article.
Meanwhile, the IPL has recently been under severe criticism over number of spot-fixing and betting scandals.
In this regard, Justice RM Lodha Committee had recently suspended former champions Chennai Super Kings and Rajashtan Royals after their owner were discovered being involved in gambling on matches.
