ISALAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has written a letter to President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe thanking him over the visit of Zimbabwean cricket team to Pakistan.
PM Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan has once again become part of the international cricket as a result of the successful cricket series. He said we will never forget the role of Zimbabwe for the revival of international cricket in Pakistan. The recent tour of the Zimbabwe cricket team to Pakistan was a great success for Pakistani cricket Team And board. Many Pakistani fans who packed the stadium during all matches, waving not just Pakistani flags but also those of Zimbabwe. Numerous fans were carrying banners thanking Zimbabwe for sending the team.
PM says that he is aware of the fact that a large part of the credit for this successful cricket series belongs to the Zimbabwe, the Government and people of Pakistan are grateful to the leadership of Zimbabwe. This successful series has now opened the new way for Pakistan to host other teams as well, and to get into the mainstream of international cricket. The role that Zimbabwe played in this regard, shall never be forgotten.
In the end, PM said that he will avail the opportunity to convey his appreciation to the Zimbabwe Cricket Board for organizing this tour.
