PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan urges Asian teams to visit Pakistan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan hopes that Zimbabwe’s tour to Pakistan will be attracting more teams and also urged Asian teams to lead the way.

PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan said that it is a big-time for Pakistan cricket that we have finally got a full Test-Cricket playing country to play in Pakistan. He said, “As we say a 1,000 miles journey starts with a single step, we hope this single step would allow us to host bigger teams as well.” He also urged the fans of cricket in Pakistan to stand up for a rocking welcome to Zimbabwe cricket team.

After the 2009 terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team bus in Lahore, there had been a complete drought of international cricket since then. But now Zimbabwe have come up to play international cricket here which is a good sign for Pakistan cricket. Shahryar Khan said that this series will open doors for more and more teams in the future.

There was confusion regarding Zimbabwe’s visit to Pakistan, few days go, but now, board officials from both the countries played their role in possibly making the tour safe with the help from their respective governments. Shahryar Khan said that this series would suggest us that in which parts related to the safety and security measures we need more improvements.

Umar Akmal, Ahmed Shahzad and other cricket players would play international cricket at home for the first time in their career. Let’s hope that cricket in Pakistan revive its glory.
