Pak vs Zim 2nd ODI: Azhar Ali’s ton powers led Pakistan to win by 6 wickets


GADDAFI STADIUM: 2nd ODI match of 3 match series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe was played today, Pakistan wins the series 2-0, while one match remaining. Pakistan winning the toss decided to field first, Zimbabwe does well with bat, young stars playing it pretty well and set 268/7 on the board in 50 overs. Azhar Ali with his captain knock, played a vital role in Pakistan’s win. At the end it concludes, Pakistan wins by 6 wickets,while 16 balls remaining on the board.


Zimbabwe XI: Vusi Sibanda, Chamu Chibhabha, Hamilton Masakadza (c), Sean Williams, Sikander Raza, Richmond Mutumbami, Charles Coventry, Graeme Cremer and Tinashe Panyangara.

Pakistan XI: Azhar Ali (c), Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Mohammad Hafeez, Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Shoiab Malik, Hammad Azam, Anwar Ali, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Sami and Yasir Shah.

Zimbabwean batting: Chamu Chibhabha proving his class, made 99 from 100 deliveries. The opener Chibhabha’s innings include of 11 fours and 1 maximum. After his dismissal, young Sikander Raza led the side with marking notout 100 on just 84 balls, none of the other batsman does well for the side. Zimbabwe set 268/7 after completion of 50 overs.


Pakistan bowling: Mohammad Sami and Anwar Ali were expensive for the side, giving 53 in 9 overs and 55 in 9 overs respectively. Although Anwar Ali took 1 wicket,on the other hand Sami was wicket less. Yasir Shah was the most successful bowler of the side with 40-2 wickets in 10 overs. Wahab Riaz also took 2 wickets and concedes 55 runs in 10 overs.

Pakistan batting: Pakistan doing once again well in the batting department with their in-form new captain Azhar Ali. Azhar Ali scored 102 from 104 balls, played brilliant captain innings.
Azhar Ali ODI stats after becoming captain: 102,79,101,36 and 72. With an average of 78.
After Azhar’s dismissal, Shoiab Malik and Haris Sohail played confidently and scored notout 36 and notout 52 respectively.

Zimbabwe bowling: They experimented 8 bowlers but it didn’t remained fruitful for them. Graeme Cremer, the carom ball expert took 2 wickets for 52 in 10 overs. Chibhabha, doing well in bowling also took 1 wicket and concedes 10 runs in 2 overs.

MoM: Azhar Ali Captain of Pakistan was awarded Man of the Match for his 102 from 104 balls.
