Pak vs Sri 3rd Test: Younis Khan surpasses Miandad’s record


PALLEKELE: Pakistani players Younis Khan and Yasir Shah made new records to their names on the last Test Match of the Three Test Matches Series against Sri Lanka here on Saturday.

Younis Khan is playing his 29th Test Match against Sri Lanka after which he became the first Pakistani player to play the most number of matches against any one opponent.


Earlier this record was with Miandad who had played 28 Test matches against India.

In the last Test Match of the series against Sri Lanka, Yasir Shah also made another record to his name. During the last Test, he has taken four wickets after which the total number of his wickets reached to 21 in a series which is the best performance by any bowler against Sri Lanka in Test Series.

Earlier, the record was held by Muhammad Asif who had taken 17 wickets in a series played in 2006.

It is the first time in 13 years that Sri Lanka is playing without Sangakara and Jayawardene in a Test Match. Since 2002, Sangakara and Jayawardene both or at least any one of them must played in a Test Match from Sri Lanka during the last 111 Test matches.
