Fawad Alam, who is lauded as one of the fittest player of Pakistan cricket team after passing the drills at ASPT Kakul held before England series was not included in the squads and now he has even got exclusion from the central contracts 2016-17, unveiled days back.
PCB chairman Shahryar Khan while talking to media has opened up about Fawad’s omission from the list of central contracted player.
“If it was up to me, Fawad would still be among our centrally contracted players,” he said. “I think it was unfair to exclude him. And now, with him getting older, it would be tougher for him to make a comeback to the national side.” said PCB chief speaking to Daily Express.
“Even though a player of Fawad’s calibre is more suitable in Tests instead of ODIs and T20Is, but, fortunately for us, there are many good players available in the format,” he further added.
It will be pertinent to mention here that in last years’ central contract, the 31-years old middle order batsman was in the category ‘C’ of central contracts but this year he was excluded from the list.
The-left-handed youngster, who made his Test debut back in 2009 has so far just played 3 Test matches in his ongoing career. After being dropped from the side he made a comeback last year in the Squad against England in UAE, but he was just restricted to the dugout.
