Former Test captain of the national side Wasim Akram stated Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) must not mull over boycotting World T20, which is going to take place in India next year, as it is an ICC event, and that ramification of such proscribe will only affect Pakistan cricket.
“The World T20 is an ICC event and we should participate in it at all costs. If we don’t it will harm us in the long run,” said the veteran legendary cricketer.
“Not playing in the World T20 will only affect your players and our cricket,” said Wasim while talking at a function in Karachi, adding that if India doesn’t want to play with Pakistan then ‘we can also survive without playing them’.
The legendary fast-bowler also said that playing or not playing cricket with India would not solve the issue of terrorism. He also blamed that India took too long to make its mind to hold series.
“I realize that the Indians have taken too long to decide on the bilateral series with Pakistan,” said Wasim.
Meanwhile, the bilateral series between India and Pakistan, which was to be held in December, is still in improbable situation and it is not sure whether the series will be held or not.
