Bangladesh scored had ended the first day of the first Test with 236/4 at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna.
The middle order batsman Mominul Haque remained the top scorer of the day with 80 after facing 162 balls and got leg before by Zulfiqar Babar just before the stamps of day one. At the end of the day, Shakib Al Hasan went back with not out on 19 after facing 53 balls.
Earlier, Bangladesh elected to bat first in the first Test against Pakistan after winning to toss. Both opening batsmen provided a nice start for their team with building a useful partnership of 52. The first Bangladeshi batsman, Tamim Iqbal, left the field after being caught by Azhar Ali on Yasir Shah’s delivery, who was bowling the 26th over of the inning.
The next batsman who had to leave the field was Imrul Kayes after scoring 51 out of 130 deliveries. He was caught and bold by Muhammad Hafeez in the 40th over when there was 92 on the board. After the departure of both the opening batsmen, Mominul Haque and Riyad built a good partnership of 95 runs helping their team to a decent position at the stamps of day one.
From bowling side, Wahab Riaz, Muhammad Hafeez, Zulfiqar Babar, and Yasir Shah took one wicket each, while Junaid Khan remained wicket less by the end of day one in Khulna.
