The newly-appointed chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq on Monday shortlisted 35-players for the fitness and training camp for England tour, surprisingly, Umar Akmal, Ahmed Shehzad and Shahid Afridi were dropped from the list of probable players for England tour.
Ahmed Shehzad, the best batsman of recently held Pakistan Cup 2016 was also dropped from the side, along with two other superstars of Pakistan cricket team. Shehzad and Akmal were dropped from the side over ‘lack of discipline’.
Chief Selector while talking to media on the day told, “Shehzad and Umar don’t have enough performances and lack discipline,” said Inzamam. “Wherever there will be a disciplinary problem, we will take a step. And you should expect this selection committee to be a little stern on discipline.”
The foreign players were also surprised over exclusion of the Pakistani opener from the side, namely Kevin Pietersen and Grant Elliot took to their Twitter and extended their messages over his surprise exclusion from the side.

Even though, the Pakistani batsman didn’t commented on the selection committees decision.
In his latest Tweet, Shehzad tried to explain what ‘self-discipline’ really is, here’s his Tweet defining the term:
Self-discipline means doing what you SHOULD do rather than what you WANT to do.
