Several days back, Pakistan Cricket team opener Ahmed Shehzad, who is part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in ongoing Pakistan Cup 2016 extended a welcome back message for Younus Khan. With this it seemed that Younis Khan will be back to lead Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan cup as at the same time the news regarding veteran cricketer’s apology to PCB was also revolving.
Though, the final decision taken by PCB is quite opposite to what it was being expected. PCB has turned down Khan’s apology and with it he’ll not be able to join the ongoing Pakistan Cup 2016.
It is pertinent to mention here that Younus Khan left the ongoing Pakistan Cup over row with umpires. After knowing he is at wrong end and violated the discipline, he called Chairman PCB, and apologized over his misconduct. In talks with Chairman PCB he also showed willingness to rejoin the ongoing pentagular Cup in Faisalabad.
After all this it was expected that he’ll back in the Pakistan Cup, but PCB has issued a show cause notice against the Pakistan’s highest Test run-getter, an also cleared their stance regarding Younis Khan with a press release.

“In light of the above pending disciplinary proceedings and due to the fact that a replacement player has already been added to the KPK Team, it has been decided, in the interest of the game, not to allow Younis to rejoin the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team in the Pakistan Cup,” said a PCB press release.
Commenting on this development Chairman PCB said, “Younis has been a great servant of Pakistan Cricket and a true role model for youngsters. I feel pained making this decision as we have to demonstrate that no one is bigger than the game. We will wait for Younis to respond before we proceed further in this matter”.
In absence of Younis Khan Ahmed Shehzad will be leading Khyber Pahtunkhwa, in the last match he showcased some great captaincy skills, which were even praised by the cricket analysts.
