Azlan Shah Cup 2016: India beats Pakistan by 5-1


SPORTS DESK: Match between arch-rivals played on the hockey ground of Malaysia in the Sultan Azlan Shah hockey tournament. India thrashed Pakistan easily by 5-1.


India kept pressure on green team from the word go, Manpreet Singh scored first goal after 4 minutes of play. Pakistan soon leveled the score on penalty corner taken by captain Mohammad Irfan. That was the only time when Pakistan team matched the score tally. After that it was just one-sided affair, however in the middle Pakistan had chance to convert penalty corner into goal but didn’t happened so.



After full time, India was all over Pakistan by four goals difference. SV Sunil scored two goals, while Talwinder Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh scored one goal each from India.


Prospect of Pakistan team in 25th Sultan Azlan Shah tournament not seemed bright but n the past Pakistan had claimed the event for three times and remained runner ups for six times.
