Veteran radio, television and stage performer Maqsood Hassan dies on Wednesday due to a heart attack at the age of 67.
He left behind a wife whom he married six years ago, but did not have any children.
Like other actors of that time, Hassan had also started his acting career from Radio Pakistan and gave his voice to a program for children.
His acting career, spanned over 50 years in which he performed for radio, television, stage and film.
The legendary actor late Muhammad Ali was among the closest friends of Hassan, the duo worked in many plays together including those produced by Khuwaja Moinuddin.
Moreover, his career on the airwaves, the celluloid and the small screen, Hassan had also showcased his acting abilities on the stage of theater. He also worked with another legend of state, the late Moin Akhtar. His play ‘Bakra Qiston Per’ were famous even after decades. ‘Hum log’ of Nazar Hussain was his last stage drama.
Hassan will be remain in memories for his performance in TV drama ‘Quddusi sahab ki bewa’ based on the circumstances a lower middle class locality of Pakistan.
