Pakistan cricket team’s former T20 captain Shahid Afridi is eyeing retirement from the shorter format of the game after he was not made part of squads for two consecutive series.
Sources humming around told Afridi is all set to retire from T20I’s, the only format he plays, the only thing he wants is to get a farewell match in the upcoming series against West Indies, scheduled to b held later in this month.
While talking about his retirement plan, Boom Boom talking to The Express Tribune told, “We don’t have a tradition of retiring players gracefully, which makes it tough for them to decide when to call it a day since we all have a desire of exiting on a high.
“Players must exit respectfully since the ones who serve the country with distinction deserve honour. I have had a discussion with Inzi Bhai [Inzamamul Haq] who is an elder to me and we will do what is beneficial to both Pakistan cricket and my own self.”
