Oscar winning Hollywood actor and comedian Robin Williams found dead at his home in Northern California, Marin County Sheriff’s office told.
Though the cause of death is under investigation, but the death is suspicious as may be a suicide due to asphyxia.
A statement from the assistant chief deputy coroner of Marin County announced on Monday that the coroner divisions of the sheriff’s office “suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made.”
“This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken,” William’s wife Susan Schneider said in a statement.
William won an Academy Award for his role as a fatherly therapist in “Good Will Hunting” which released in 1997. He introduced his chaotic style in TV series “Mork & Mindy” which was air on late 1970s. He had been struggling with addiction for long and had been admitted a Minnesota rehabilitation centre last month as he had been suffering from severe depression.
