Dukhtar, a film made in Lollywood which was to screen on the Independence Day throughout the country, has been postponed till September 8.
Afia Nathaniel, the director of the much awaited movie ‘Dukhtar’ told media that the team of Dukhtar will soon release official statement for the decision with announcement for the plans of the film’s international release. “We thank all our fans for their patience and excitement as we unroll our plans for a major release,” she said.
Nathaniel did not reveled much about the reason which drive them to postponed the release. But the speculations are high that the film sees a wait in its release due to the Imran Khan’s Azaadi March on August 14, as the cinemas in Islamabad especially would remain inaccessible for the audience on the day.
On the other side, Nadeem Mandviwalla, the owner of Centaurus Cineplex in Islamabad, said that the accessibility of Centaurus in Islamabad on August 14 depends on accessibility to the mall. “The cinema will open if the mall opens and vice versa,” he said.
Though the Cinema Owners Association has not released any official statement but some cinemas in Punjab will halt their business if needed.
