Professor Amjad Islam Amjad’s books have been translated into Italian and Turkish languages.
The copies of the translated poetry books of renowned poet and professor Amjad Islam Amjad were presented to the Foreign Secretary, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Thursday at the Foreign Office.
The Italian translated book is titled as “Cento Poesie D’Amore” whereas Turkish translation is named as “Kara Buyu”. Some renowned scholars of the both Italian and Turkish literature, translated the books.
Punjab University published Cento Poesoe D’Amore on Amjad’s 70th birthday which was on August 4. The translation work was done by a well known oriental, the late Vito Salierno, who previously translated the works of Allama Iqbal and Jallaludin Rumi.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs got appreciation from Professor Amjad on their cooperation in translating and publishing process of his books.
The book launched ceremony was graced with the presence of Ambassador of Turkey in Islamabad Sadik Babur Girgin and senior officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
