Film-star Meera allegedly fled with Rs 0.7 million given by Zawar Baloch, director/producer of the play titled Makhan Malaiyan.
The Multan based producer of stage drama, Baloch claimed that the actress had signed an agreement to play her role in the play during its run from October 9 to 14.
“Before the run’s completion, she left her hotel without informing anyone,” claimed Baloch.
He added that the play had completed merely four shows at the Starlet Theatre, and that the controversy queen Meera had taken Rs0.5 million as the signing amount and was given remaining Rs0.2 million upon arriving Multan.
“I shall go to the court against the contract violation,” said Baloch adding that tickets worth millions of rupees were returned and the whole project got failed in the wake of Meera’s leaving. Baloch also informed that the moment Meera reached Multan, she was arguing with someone over mobile phone and was also weeping.
He claimed that she was apparently talking to her alleged former husband Capt Naveed.
“You have already eaten up $20,000 of mine. What more do you want?” Baloch quoted Meera saying on phone.
Further, Baloch said that he dialed Meera’s phone recurrently but she did not respond. On the loss from the audience of drama, tickets worth Rs0.1 million have been refunded as the audience lost interest in the drama without Meera, as claimed a theatre official.
