The working draft of the song ‘Like a Rolling Stone’ by Bob Dylan gathered all time high price in the world for a music manuscript. A draft of all time hit song, Bob Dylan’s Like a Rolling Stone, was sold on Tuesday for over $2m, which Sotheby, the auction house, called a world record for a popular music manuscript. Daylan’s hand written working draft of his all time hit song, had been given to an unidentified bidder at Sotheby auction house with a price of $2.045 million, including buyer’s premium. The manuscript is “the only known surviving draft of the final lyrics for this transformative rock anthem” Sotheby’s said. The draft is written in lead pencil on four sheets of letterhead stationery of the Roger Smith Hotel in Washington DC with revision, additions, notes and doodles: a hat, a bird, an animal with antlers. The manuscript was auctioned as part of Sotheby’s rock and pop music sale.
