“No disgrace for rape survivor,” a message by Jolie
Tomb Rider star, 39, is hosting ‘the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict’ in London. It is the gathering of 200 government ministers along with experts from courts and charities of 144 countries. The summit will continue till Thursday, aiming to suggest how to eliminate sexual violence in war zones .
In her official opening statement Jolie said, “We must send a message across the world that there is no disgrace in being a survivor of sexual violence – the shame is on the aggressor.”
British foreign secretary William Hague said ,”This is an unacceptable crime practiced on a vast scale. What we’re trying to achieve is standards on documentation so that people don’t get away with it.”
