Qawwali maestro, scion of famed Sabri Brothers, Amjad Sabri has been laid to rest today amid tears and sobs beside his father, Ghulam Farid Sabri, in Paposh Nagar graveyard, Karachi. Thousands of fans, followers , relatives gathered at the funeral of the proficient singer who was shot multiple tomes by unknown motorbike assailants while he was going to studio from home for Iftar transmission.
Amjad Sabri was shot on Wednesday while driving in his car in the city, Liaqatabad area, when a motorbike came alongside the car and assailants started firing violently.
“The attackers used a 30-bore pistol and shoot Amjad Sabri five times. One of them bullet took Amjad’s life. After the shoot the attackers escaped through Hassan Square route,” told Inspector General Mushtaq Meher after probing down the incident initially after cordoning off the area.
Senior Police Officer, Muqaddas Haider told that it was a targeted killing and an act of terrorism.
Whole of the nation is in deep shock over the Qawwali maestro’s death and many are up with concerned about the security situation countrywide as days back Sindh’s Chief Justice’s son was kidnapped during a broad daylight and up the latest Amjad Sabri was killed on busy road around hours before Iftar.
Celebrities from cross border entertainment industry also condemned this brutal attack and also paid tribute to Amjad Sabri over carrying on the legacy of Sabri Brothers.
