Razza University: “Seven Medical Faculties in Sicily”

“We understood that there was an extraordinary need for professionalism and that training meant wealth for the region. When the regional government took over, there were 3 medical faculties, today they are 4 already and we are running the fifth medical faculty which is the faculty built by the University of Messina with a second faculty at Papardo Hospital, with the commission of the council we will definitely work towards the sixth goal with the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and the Giglio di Cefalù Foundation. We hope to finish this work in the coming weeks. In fact, if we succeed by the end of the state, it will be 7 medical schools in Sicily in Sicily. HR is the hero again.” This was stated by Ruggero Razza, Regional Health Adviser, who spoke at the presentation of the Scientific Technical Committee of the Social and Health Sector at Confindustria Sicilia. “Even the faculties of nursing sciences – which Raza outlined – will double the number of students in Sicily.”

“We should all feel like players on the same team, this is the biggest lesson that comes to us from the pandemic and we need to create a public health system that is able to respond to the needs of all citizens,” the commissioner said.

“I want to thank you for the dialogue we have had in recent months with the social and health sector of Confindustria Sicilia and let us focus on the next deadlines, we must decide together – emphasized Raza -. The system of teamwork implemented with the Albanian President and with President Ruggeri allowed us to share some advanced points which also concerned the integration of the public and private sectors in the existing projects and the work to be done in light of the objectives of the NRP program. In Sicily, the weight of the health system over GDP is 13%, and in the most disadvantaged regions the potential for growth is huge. “Today, we need concrete and quick options,” Raza concluded.
