Qatar Airways It marked an important milestone in its history as it celebrated 25 years of service in the UK with a special flight on 30 March 2022.
On March 30, 1997, Qatar Airways launched its service from Doha to London Heathrow AirportUsing the A300-600R aircraft. After 25 years, Qatar Airways is now one of the largest operating airlines in the world 35 flights per week from Doha to London Heathrow and more than 50 per week for UK.
The airline flew Boeing 777-300s with retro decoration to commemorate that first flight. Qatar Airways Flight 007 was greeted at London Heathrow Airport with a traditional water cannon salute and a celebratory event for passengers.
The airline marked the occasion with an in-flight menu designed to evoke traditional British flavours. Passengers seated in a Premium cabin were invited to dine on an a la carte ’25 Years of Excellence in London’ menu exclusive to famous British dishes. Economy Class passengers were treated to British dishes specially prepared for the celebration.
