Premier Padel, broadcasts P1 from Madrid on all five continents

The P1 tournament, which is about to appear on the screens of the most padel fans in the world, will be broadcast by TVE On Air, the largest Spanish broadcaster. At least one match each day will be broadcast on Teledeportes, the linear TV channel, while the other matches, featuring pairs of Spanish superstars in the main court, will be broadcast on RTVE Play, TVE’s OTT platform.

Madrid P1 will be broadcast in 180 regions, on par with Radio Paris Major, which was broadcast just two weeks ago. In addition to TVE, the major participating broadcasters include: Canal + (France and over 60 global regions), ESPN, beIN SPORTS, Sky Sports (Italy, Germany, UK and Ireland), Supersport, Charlton, Viaplay, Arena, Cosmote and Coupang.

the event

In total, 48 men’s paddock pairs will compete in the qualifying round before 40 pairs have already qualified to start the tournament officially, on Monday, August 1. The final will take place on Saturday 6 August 2022. Among the champions are the champions of the last two major tournaments of Paris and Rome, Alejandro Galán and Juan Lebron; Paris runners, Federico Chinguto and Juan Tello. Doha’s inaugural major champions, Paquito Navarro and Martin de Nino; Newcomers Sanyo Gutierrez and Agustin Tapia, one of the world’s greatest couples; And finally, the exceptional Fernando Bellastiguin with young Arturo Coelho.

In addition, local fans will be able to welcome a new star couple to Premier Padel: Sanyo Gutiérrez and Agustin Tapia, who will collaborate for the first time during the tournament. Sanyo had already partnered with Italian Prime Minister Padel Major with his cousin Augustin Gutierrez; This time the Argentine teamed up with his compatriot Tapia, to form the third seed duo in the opening round.

Madrid P1 is the fourth international tournament hosted by the new circuit. Organized by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and supported by the Professional Padel Association (PPA) and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), Premier Padel was launched earlier this year.

Circle

The Circuit has been a huge success in all the tournaments played so far. After being sold for the Grand Prix of Rome during the semi-finals and final, the Paris Major turned out to be an all-time record: 25,000 spectators filled Kurt-Philippe Chatrier.

Online engagement is also growing rapidly, with nearly 2.5 million viewers on YouTube, an increase of 25% over the previous Premier Padel Major in Rome.

Ziad Hammoud, Director of Prime Minister BadilHe stated: “Doha, Rome and Paris were just the beginning. We are thrilled to bring Padel to the heart of his fan base at this P1 tournament in the beautiful city of Madrid. We thank TVE for promoting to the widest possible audience of Spanish padel fans, along with FIP, Federación Española de Padel (FEP) and Professional Padel Association (PPA) for keeping players at the heart of everything we do.”.

Immediately after Madrid, P1 for Mendoza, Argentina, will take place from August 9-14, while Premier Padel confirms the magnetic momentum that distinguishes it as the official FIP circuit. This year’s fourth major tournament – Mexico Prime Minister Padel Major – will be held at Club Sonoma in Monterrey, Mexico, from November 28 to December 4.
