Pompeii: an event for Ukraine in the cultural gymnasium

Friday 7 October 2022 North Portico of the Great Gymnasium of Pompeii for excavations will host – starting at 7 pm – the last date of the “Cultural Gymnasium”, a parade of events planned and funded by the Campania region as part of Campania by Night produced and promoted by Scabec, an association Regional to promote cultural heritage.

The closing of the cycle of events is entrusted with “Pompeii to Ukraine. A Message from the Front”, a review of film and motion pictures by contemporary artists from Ukraine, originally commissioned and produced by Castello di Rivoli after the conquest of Ukraine in February 2022. The event is held in collaboration with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii , as part of the Pompeii Compliance Project.

The program is edited by Nikita Kadanborn in 1982 who lives and works in Kyiv, with Julia Colletti, Curator of digital projects and for the audience of Castello di Rivoli.

Nikita Kadan She works in drawing, graphics and installation, often in interdisciplinary collaborations with architects, sociologists, and human rights activists. He is a member of the art group Rep (Revolutionary Experimental Space) and a founding member of Hudrada (Art Committee), an organizational and activist association. Nikita Kadan represented Ukraine at the Venice Biennale in 2015.

Julia Colletti, 28, graduated in Art History in Venice, and has worked at institutions such as La Biennale di Venezia, Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, and CCA: Center for Contemporary Arts Glasgow. In 2015, as a valued assistant to Barnabas Pensic, Director of Ludwig Múzeum Budapest, he participated in the realization of the first edition of OFF-Biennale.

Colletti is also responsible for the public programs and digital sphere of the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art, where he currently coordinates the virtual space of the digital universe. She was recently appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the 19th Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean.

At the end of the meeting, it will be possible to take a guided tour of the exhibition “Art and Thriller in the Houses of Pompeii”, sponsored by the director Gabriel Zustregel By archaeologist Maria Luisa CatoniLucca, professor at IMT Alti Studi Lucca.
