United Nations and America condemns attack on Ismaili community

KARACHI: The  attack carried out on Ismaili community which claimed 43  lives and 24 got injured.

According to initial investigation report, the motorcyclists carrying 9mm pistols attacked on the bus of Ismaili Community and killed 43 persons and left several injured. Eye-witnesses said that bus was attacked from all sides and many were left badly injured as a result. Police said that around 50 to 60 people were travelling when the attack took place at Safoora Chowk Area near Dow Medical College.

 

United Nations condemnation:

Dr. Jacqui Badcock, Resident Coordinator of the United Nation in Pakistan,

“We are horrified by this act of brutality and extend our condolences to the families of the deceased and the wounded. We express our deep concern about the repeated acts of blind violence against religious and ethnic minorities in Pakistan and reaffirm out strongest commitment to protecting the rights of all minorities in Pakistan and reaffirm out strongest commitment to protecting the rights of all minorities for them to freely exercise their rights.

On behalf of the American people, U.S. Ambassador Richard Olson extends his deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims of Wednesday’s heinous bus attack in Karachi, and strongly condemns this senseless terrorist act.
